News Release: Vanguard PAC Says Alito "the Cream of the Crop"

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 31, 2005

NICEVILLE, FLORIDA -- Vanguard PAC, one of America's leading conservative groups, today jumped for joy over President Bush's selection of Judge Sam Alito for the U.S. Supreme Court and urged all conservatives to plunge wholeheartedly into the fight to come.

"Sam Alito has spent his entire professional career defending the Constitution," said Rod Martin, Vanguard PAC's founder and chairman. "He is every bit as smart as John Roberts, every bit as sound as Antonin Scalia, and his years on the Third Circuit have given him a widespread reputation for fairness and ability."

In response to Democrats' open horror at the nomination of the brilliant conservative jurist, Martin said: "For years, the American people have been shifting the center of power in this country in a direction more in line with mainstream belief. They have earned the right to have judges who reflect that. If the radical wing of the Democratic Party can't get that, that explains why their numbers shrink by the day.

"We will fight until the fight is won. We promised the President that if he knocked one out of the park, we'd go win the game for him. It's time conservatives put their money where their mouth is. Vanguard PAC certainly will."

Vanguard PAC mobilized tens of thousands of Americans to call, write, fax and talk to their Senators during the Roberts confirmation hearings, and plans an even greater effort to ensure victory for Judge Alito.
