News Release: Vanguard PAC Statement on Death Tax Action by U.S. Senate

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 28, 2005

NICEVILLE, FLORIDA -- Vanguard PAC, one of America's leading conservative groups and an organizational member of the Congressional End the Death Tax Caucus, issued the following statement last evening commenting on U.S. Senate action to proceed with the Death Tax Repeal Permanency Act of 2005 (H.R. 8) after the August recess.

"Vanguard PAC is pleased that the leaders of the U.S. Senate recognize the importance of staying on a legislative path toward full and permanent repeal of the death tax," said Rod Martin, Vanguard PAC's founder and chairman. "Now that the Senate has decided to proceed with legislative action after the August recess, we will be encouraging our thousands of members across America to use the rest of the summer to visit one-on-one with senators as they return home to their states. We all want a vote on full and permanent repeal, not a watered down compromise.

"We'll be telling them: do what we elected you to do. If we wanted a left wing Senate, we'd have given Democrats the majority. It's that simple."
